agile Resource is an integral part of Resource One. This division provides interior architectural solutions such as solar shades, DIRTT Environmental Solutions and acoustic products as well as auditorium seating, lockers and millwork that are normally considered sub products to the general contractor. In this sense, agile refers to being able to quickly respond and change…. nimbleness before and after the installation. We learned recently that the word agile is used frequently in the context of software development methodology. Scrum teams that work on a particular project include individuals with their own area of expertise led by a scrum leader who ensures the project progresses and finishes on time. Most project managers’ Gantt Charts are formatted in a waterfall fashion that is very linear, not very much overlap in processes. But a scrum styled chart has a lot of overlap and rather than contiguous activities, there are many tasks happening at the same time.
This same sort of overlap happens with DIRTT Environmental Solutions because the product is designed with ICE software, “custom” is standard, the “bill of materials” is being “built” at the same time the drawing is done, and the product is manufactured offsite in 3 weeks and shipped. All while the other trades are getting their jobs done with the building shell. Savings are seen in man-power, dumpster usage, flooring and ceiling products with DIRTT Environmental Solutions.
